Donating to Dallas West Indies United (DWIU) is not a business transaction. We are licensed in the state of Texas as a 501(c)3 organization. There are numerous instances when DWIU incur expenses that are not covered by membership dues or pledges and grants. Therefore, to support our operations and provide quality services and flexibility to aid in the communities that we serve, we require donations and charitable giving from those who wish to fund our cause.
You may be able to claim a deduction on your federal taxes if you donate to DWIU.
To claim deductions, it’s necessary to keep records of your donations. Financial donations are best made via credit card or check, as these methods help in record keeping.
